10:39 am - New music happenings
I'm not sure whether the covers project I've been talking about for years will come next, because I'm actually full of new songs. Surprisingly, I'm gravitating toward writing these on cello instead of piano.
I do kinda want to record demo versions of two songs for the covers project (probably "Hurt" and "Open Your Heart") -- so I can shop them to labels. I mainly want a label for this project because I'm sooo not looking forward to handling all the licensing for 13-16 songs on my own. I hope to have the demos done in a month or so, and then maybe wait until I hear back from someone before I work too much more on the project. It'll be a guaranteed good seller but still definitely my own interpretations.

As someone who you have given a few of your covers to (Hurt, Some Front242 song I don't have with me) I can say that I really am interested. Also, new Unwoman? I still have to pick up Blossoms for crying out loud! Also, your collaboration with Matt, so that my Caustic collection is closer to complete. Oh well, it's only money. :)

Thanks! It'll be a while before anything new is actually released -- sometime in 2009 I'm betting. The Caustic collaboration, I don't know when that's coming out as it's on a tribute compilation... I will certainly post about it!
You KNOW I'm excited--whatever it'll be. Your voice is so beautiful, and so is your music. But they're both equal in my mind, anyway...
Yeah, licensing sounds like it would suck--who originally did "Hurt"? I feel like I should know...
Oh, also: "Blossoms" is still on the New CD's rack, so I don't know if DJs are actually playing it, but it is perfectly possible, as we're supposed to play 3 new tracks an hour (some people don't do that, I hear...)
So, yeah, I mention this because my show is tonight; I have to end it at least five minutes early--have to dash off to school production of "The Crucible"; my lesbian lover is playing Abigail! ^_^

Heh, Nine Inch Nails originally did Hurt. I was 13, you were a mere infant!
Licensing is perfectly easy for all the songs that are in Harry Fox Agency list. However, I have a tendency to cover obscure tracks as well as popular ones (Open Your Heart will be no problem) so getting in touch with the licensors for those will be a minor PITA.

But what does "PITA" stand for... I assume you're not referring to pita bread...XP
Hey that's cool...it's better to have more material than not! If you want a warped remix lemme know. But if you do the covers thing, I would like to hear your version of a motorhead song.
